Overview
Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus Ohio is one of the largest children's hospitals in the United States. That being said, it can be one heck of a place to navigate, not only for the patients and parents, but even the staff has a high chance of getting lost while navigating throughout the hospital.
The Project
The goal of this project was to create a fun, informative motion graphic explainer video (or series of videos) that introduces viewers to the most important locations on each hospital floor from a patient transport perspective. These videos will highlight key departments and services, providing a floor-by-floor breakdown of where essential areas are located.
This project was inspired by my own experience as a new employee at Nationwide Children’s. I found it difficult to quickly learn where things were located, especially as information was delivered rapidly and often without visual context. This video aims to solve that problem for others in the same position.
The primary audience is new transporters and other newly hired staff members who are still familiarizing themselves with the hospital layout. While the content could also benefit patients and parents, it will be tailored primarily for internal staff use to avoid potential confusion for external audiences.
